Ice Skating Rink

I am so excited about the new Ice skateing rink downtown! With Hoopers down there too it is going to be exciting. Make sure you come to Winterfest this Saturday and support all the merchants.

I love the downtown area and just enjoy walking and riding my bike around down there.

Get down there and chill out, maybe at the rink!!!!!!!

If you see me make sure you smile because I might take your picture!!!!

Driving, such a bore!

Do to a water leak at my house I had to drive to work today. It was so boring, even though it is raining this afternoon I still would have enjoyed riding home. Now i have to go to the gym later and work out and be very bored.

Riding is so much fun. When I ride it is my time for me alone. I can decide which way i come home and if I want to put headphones and jam. I hardly ever think about anything serious when I ride. The other day I just kept thinking how much you can see when you slow down and have a wide open view.

I bet my metal pony misses me, I might have to go out and clean her up later!

Ride for Real!

Heaven in a blanket

Thats how I describe my Grandaughter! Alexandra Rose Fox, was such a joy to hold this past week. I told her Dad , when your holding her don't you feel like the richest man on the planet. When she is awake in your arms she stares right into your face with those beautiful blue eyes and I just melt.

When it came time to come home I knew it would be hard to leave but I didn't expect to feel like this. I am soo depressed and half sick to my stomach. I just feel heartbroken and can't understand how 8lbs of little girl wrapped up in a blanket can make someone my size feel like this. When your 6ft. 4inches and 250lbs it's hard to imagine that leaving my grandaughter at the airport would make me cry. I don't know how long it takes to get back to normal but I hope it's real soon. I'm usually a happy person and know it won't be long till we get to go back at Christmas. Amanda and Jessie will get to go with us and we will all be together for Christmas.

All my friends that are Grandparents told me I wouldn't understand what they were talking about until I held my own Grandbaby. They were right and my only way to describe it-----------------Heaven in a blanket!

Don't do that!

My mother used to tell me to not make those faces because I might wind up looking like that all the time. I guess Debbie is going to have a smile on her face the rest of her life because she hasn't stopped grinning since we got here.

We got to babysit while Kristin went to the store yesterday. Alexandra messed in her britches right away and being the nice guy I am I let Grandma have the honors of course. After she got her cleaned up and a new set of clothes she handed her to me and went to wash her hands. Before I took three steps I had already lost the pacifer and both socks onto the floor.

My son asked me if I was in the room when he and his sisters were born, and I told him I was. I asked him how the birth of his daughter compared to the day he got married. He said it didn't compare. I agree also, the miracle of birth is a gift from God.

I am so proud of Dan for wanting to be involved in the total care of his daughter. You have to watch him though because he hoggs her a lot. But this week we grandparents have the right to just take her away from him. Kristin is such a good mom, we love her so much!

Everytime I come to Seattle I get so excited to go hiking on Mt. Ranier. But this trip I am excited because we are going to take Alexandra to a pumpkin patch!!!!! I think I'll take my camera!!!!

God Bless

Time Out!!!!!!!

Take time everyday for youself! I am sort of a workaholic, ok I know I am. I have started stopping every morning at Market St. coffee for some flavored coffee and good conversation with whoever comes in. I usually sit with two of my friends Jim Keeney and Mike Brewer.

It's amazing how a walk in the middle of the afternoon can get you back focused on your work.

My point is try to do something everyday that you enjoy.

Ride your Bike!

Well, I decided last spring when my doctor got on to me about my weight to do something about it! My Dad died when he was 46 years old, so i never thought i would live to be real old. But looks like I might be here for longer than I figured so I better start taking better care of myself.

I thought it would be stupid to drive to work and back and then go for a bike ride when I got home for excersize. I then decided to start riding to work. 1700 miles later I have left 54 lbs. out there on the street. I feel so much better, and feel like a little boy every morning when I get my bike out to ride to work.

It is so easy to come up with excuses to not ride your bike. In truth most of our errands could be done on your bike.

I was riding my road bike to work but have gotten a new commuter bike that is better to ride when i have more clothes on for cold winter riding.
Most Sat. mornings my wife and I will ride down to Market st. coffee where we meet some friends of ours who bike down there too. Good coffee and something from Kirchoffs is a great way to start you Sat.

So put some baseball cards on your spokes and get out there and ride

God bless,

Old grey fox now

Well, I have had gray hair for a long time now but that doesn't bother me. I'm to lazy to keep trying to dye it so gray I will stay. I have never been bothered by it I guess because i still feel young. I think as long as I have my toys and keep playing there is no need to grow up.

I am officially a Grandpaw now with the birth of our first Grandchild! Her name is Alexandra Rose Fox, and her parents are Dan and Kristin Fox. Debbie and I will be flying to Seattle next week to hold her for the first time. I feel like I did years ago when I was a boy waiting on Christmas and it would take forever to get here. Her middle name (Rose) is the same as my mother's name. This means so much to me that they named her that. My mother (deceased) was such a wonderful person. I can't wait to see my wife hold her grandaughter for the first time and take pictures of her holding Alexandra. I know Dan and Kristin are wonderful parents. I have been so blessed with all of my family.

Both of our daughters are teachers and love everybody's kids. I am so proud of them!
I am going to write in this blog about things that I do having fun in this great area that we live in. I laugh at people that say there is nothing to do around here. If you think that just call me and I will take you to do lots of stuff that is a lot of fun and don't cost a lot of money!
God Bless you,
Bill Fox
